The Library logistics are detailed and well done. The worldbuilding feels original and amazing, allowing me to explore Hell and Heaven in entirely new ways! I was a little confused at times about how things worked (I’m still unsure how Leto became human again? Did he die twice, or did his demonic soul just become purified?), but overall, I loved how everything came together. This idea is so interesting and refreshing. “When unwritten books get too wild, too loved, or just too hungry, they get it in their fool heads to be real.” The Library of the Unwritten, page 22 This doesn’t sit well with the angel Ramiel, and soon Hell’s inhabitants must find a way to keep the books out of the wrong hands or risk the destruction of the library. While on the hunt for an escaped character, she, along with the muse Brevity, the demon Leto, and the Arcanist Andras, discovers a piece of the devil’s bible. She guards the Unwritten Wing of Hell’s Library, where books unfinished by their authors reside. The Library of the Unwritten follows Hell’s librarian, Claire Hadley. It’s fun, imaginative, haunting, and absolutely perfect for any lover of stories-readers and writers alike. Review: I loved this book and think it’s one of the best impulsive buys I’ve made.
