Harry, I love him so much,”He crack me up”.It was so funny, and Reed so sweet. It’s about finding your perfect counterweight. Reed just has to convince Henry that life isn’t about reaching your ideal bodyweight. As the friendship lines start to blur, Henry is convinced there’s no way Thor-like Reed could ever be interested in a guy like him. He’s sick of guys who are only interested in the perfect body image, never seeing him for who he really is.Īs Reed tortures Henry with things like diet and exercise, Henry enamours Reed with recipes and laughter. Reed Henske is a personal trainer who isn’t sure he’ll ever be ready to date again.

In a vain attempt at getting his boyfriend back, Henry does the most absurdly frightening thing he can think of. Oh, and it’s okay…Reed doesn’t get it either at first. After being dumped by his long-term boyfriend for being overweight, Henry Beckett decides to make some drastic changes. So Ctrl C your way into Henry’s world and you won’t regret it. OMG, can you just see it now? And if Joel Leslie narrates? No sipping soda while listening. Oh, and since gay marriage is now legal in Australia, I’m starting a petition to Ms. In the end, all of Henry’s stress was worth it, even with the judgmental barramundi and…George Clooney? There is news, however, that is going to change everything in the New Year. I’m not going to ruin the surprise of what is on the T-shirts, but those images alone make the story worth reading. Henry’s only request from his guests is that they wear Christmas T-shirts (it is summer in Australia, after all). I loved it because I got a different view of Henry and it is clear Reed loves Henry despite his neuroses and not because of them.

The first thing I noticed is while the first book is entirely in Henry’s point-of-view, we get Reed’s perspective in this short story as well. Henry is obsessed with hosting the best party ever, of course, and Reed is along for the ride. There is another critical couple as well – Henry’s best friend Anika and her beau Sean. Reed’s co-worker Emily and her boyfriend are there, as is Melinda, Henry’s personal assistant. This is Henry and Reed’s first Christmas as an engaged couple and they are hosting a Christmas Eve dinner for their closest friends. You don’t have to have read/listened to ‘The Weight of It All’ to enjoy this story, but it definitely helps.
